Born and raised in Colorado's beautiful San Luis Valley, I learned early that success isn't measured by shortcuts—it's earned through hard work, integrity, and showing up every day. Growing up in a farming and ranching family shaped not only my work ethic but also the values that continue to guide me in every aspect of my life and career.

I am a proud graduate of Centauri High School and earned my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Adams State University. My education taught me to think critically, solve complex problems, and approach challenges with precision and determination. While science strengthened my analytical abilities, it was my upbringing that instilled the character behind those skills.

Life in a rural community teaches lessons that cannot be found in a classroom. On a farm and ranch, there are no days off when animals need care, crops need attention, or neighbors need a helping hand. From an early age, I learned the importance of responsibility, accountability, perseverance, adaptability, and resilience. I discovered that hard work is expected, honesty is non-negotiable, and a handshake still carries meaning. Those experiences built the grit, discipline, and determination that define who I am today.

Much of my inspiration comes from the generations before me. My grandparents, Ed and Lois Booth, dedicated their lives to building something that would outlast them. Through countless early mornings, late nights, and unwavering commitment, they created a legacy rooted in faith, family, hard work, and service to their community. Their example demonstrated that meaningful success is built one day, one decision, and one act of perseverance at a time.

My parents, Lawrence and Janell Martin, continued those same traditions by teaching me the value of integrity, humility, and treating every person with respect. They showed me that character is revealed not only during life's biggest moments but also in the small, everyday choices we make. Their guidance reinforced the importance of earning trust, keeping your word, and taking pride in a job well done.

Today, I carry those values into everything I do. Whether solving problems, serving others, or working toward a goal, I believe in leading with honesty, dedication, compassion, and a relentless work ethic. I understand the unique character of rural communities because I have lived it. I appreciate the sacrifices families make, the pride they have in their land, and the importance of relationships built on trust.

The San Luis Valley will always be home. It is where I learned the meaning of community, where I developed the resilience to overcome challenges, and where I found the passion to serve others. Marrying my husband, Christopher, added another meaningful chapter to my life—one that deepened my appreciation for craftsmanship, entrepreneurship, and the dedication required to build something that lasts. Through Christopher and his family, I have gained invaluable insight into the construction industry and the commitment, precision, and integrity that go into creating homes where families will build their own memories for generations.

Christopher was raised by parents who exemplify what it means to lead through hard work and character. My father-in-law and mother-in-law, Andy and Rebecca Martin, have built an outstanding reputation through their company, Steel Line Construction. Their work reflects more than quality craftsmanship—it reflects honesty, accountability, and a genuine commitment to their clients. They have dedicated themselves to constructing beautiful custom homes while earning the trust and respect of the communities they serve. Watching their business thrive has shown me that excellence is achieved not only through technical skill but through treating every client with fairness, transparency, and respect.

The values that define Christopher were cultivated long before he entered the workforce. From an early age, he learned alongside his parents that success comes from discipline, perseverance, and taking pride in every project, no matter its size. His work ethic, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to doing things the right way are qualities that continue to inspire me every day.

I have also been fortunate to become part of the Polkowske family legacy. My husband's grandparents, Leroy and Jan Polkowske, have demonstrated throughout their lives the importance of balancing business success with unwavering faith and a deep commitment to family. Their example reminds us that true wealth is measured not only by professional accomplishments but by the relationships we cultivate, the integrity with which we conduct ourselves, and the legacy we leave for future generations.

Together, Christopher and I strive to carry forward the values that have been instilled in both of our families.
